Morning
Take an 80-minute flight to get to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s economic center, which is the most crowded city with over 10 million of population and where you will find an incredible mix of Vietnamese traditional culture and modern life.
Upon arrival, our driver will wait and transfer you to the Ho Chi Minh City hotel.
Afternoon
At 13:30, we will join the Ho Chi Minh sightseeing tour “all-in-one” to visit all the top must-see attractions here.
To begin, we pay a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which preserves more than 20,000 documents, artifacts, and movies about evidence of crimes and consequences of wars that the invading forces have caused to Vietnam.
Next, move to the Reunification Palace which used to be the residence and working place of the President of the Republic of Vietnam, this place witnessed and marked the day Vietnam officially gained independence and territorial integrity.
Continuing our journey to the stunning Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral also known as Immaculate Conception Cathedral Basilica or Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saïgon. It is not only a symbol of Catholicism in Vietnam but also one of the unique architectural works of Ho Chi Minh City.
Following your visit to the cathedral, we head to the Saigon Post Office: one of the typical colonial architectural constructions in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a building built by the French between 1886 and 1891 with Western-style design combined with Eastern decoration. The post office is still working at present and is crowded every day.
NOTE: Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral is temporarily under renovation.
Before returning to your hotel, the tour's last stop is the local market, where your group can go shopping like a local and learn how to bargain.

We had two guides.
The guide for the Mekong delta : very good.
The guide for the half day visit of Ho Chi Minh : poor. Firstly, we were late not because of us, but because we had just landed and reached the hotel, and our room was not ready. We had to change our clothes, take our camera and rucksacks from our suitcases, and prepare ourselves rapidly for the trip. She made it clear to us that she was not happy because we were taking too long, in spite of the fact that she knew full well that this was not because of us. Her explanations during the tour were more or less explanations which we could read by ourselves from the written notes posted near each place, room, or monument. There was another guide who was visiting the Palace with French tourists, and from time to time I went to listen to what the other guide was explaining. The quality and depth of the explanations of the guide who was explaining to the French tourists were much better than those of our guide. When, on occasion, I took some extra time to take some photographs, she did not wait for me to be back, and started with her explanations which I had to catch up in the middle, having missed the first half. At the end of the tour (and this happened only once, with her, during our whole trip), she asked us to give her a tip. We had never heard this before. She did not say that directly – she said that if we had appreciated the services of the driver, we could give him tip to thank him for his services – it was akin to stating that if we appreciated her services, we could give her a tip.
Accommodation
This applies for all the hotels – we liked the locations of the hotels – very well located, and closed to all attractions. We were happier being in a centrally located hotel than being in a hotel of a perhaps higher standard, but located further away from the sights we wanted to visit, from the restaurants, shops, etc.
4.1. Hotel in Hanoi
Very good. We liked the Palago. The staff was friendly, explained to us well what we could visit. On our return from Ha Long Bay we were given a small room at Level 1 by the person who was at the reception. We did not complain, even though the room was much smaller compared to the ones we had obtained before. About 15 minutes after we had entered our room, another lady at the reception realized that, came to see us, apologized, and stated that we would get a room of the size and at a floor level (upper) similar to the ones which we had before. We told her that, during our 15 minutes in the room, we had used the bathroom, the toilet, etc. She stated that this was not at all an issue, and that they would clean the room. She thus changed our room.
4.2. Hotel in Ho Chi Minh
The location was excellent, but the service very poor. Firstly when we arrived, they did not have our names in their computer system. It took them 10 minutes to find our names in their system, and this also delayed our half day tour. The explanations they provided regarding the sites and places to visit in Ho Chi Minh were very basic, I would say that the explanations regarding the places to visit were poor, and a far cry from the explanations which were provided to us at Palago in Hanoi. We could have missed the Mekong delta trip because of the poor level of the hotel staff. The hotel opens on two streets – we were, my wife and I, thus waiting on one side, but we had told the reception on the other side that if ever the guide came, we were waiting on the other side giving on the other street, and that they just had to call us and we would come immediately. When the guide of the Mekong delta tour came at the hotel, the hotel told him (in the same manner as what had happened when we checked in) that they did not have our names in their system. The guide waited for us and no one told us that he had come. You had told me that the bus would be coming at 7 hrs 15-30. At 7 hrs 35 no one had come to pick us. I thus used the telephone number of the guide, which, fortunately for us (and thank you for this) you had given us. When I called the guide, the guide was waiting for us outside the hotel. He would certainly not have waited ad vitam eternam, and had you not given us the phone number of the guide, we would most probably have missed the Mekong delta trip (we enjoyed very much that trip).

Very good, even though the staff at the reception did not give us a lot of details of what to visit in town and what to do. The hotel building is nice, and well located, but the staff is ok, not extraordinary.

Michele really enjoyed the trip to the silk mill. Hanoi is a busy, kind of crazy city but we really loved it and the food! It was fun for me to watch Tam and Michele, they acted like sisters and got the “giggles” together. She did a super job!
Guide in Hue/ Hoi An: Tree(not sure if I got his name right) was another wonderful guide. I’d rank our two days in HoI A was the most wonderful of our trip, and Tre had a look to do with that. Cooking class at the place in the rice fields was really fun and we had a great time touring the city and going to the markets. Michele had discovered Morning Glory at dinner the night before and was telling Tree about it and he arranged for some at cooking class. It was a nice touch that showed he was listening. I don’t think anyone could have done a better job,
Guide in Ho Chi Minh: Mr Quang( sorry, forget his first name) did a great job. He was able to answer just about every question. HCMC is a very busy place and frankly was a little too busy for us. We liked the market near the hotel, and he found me the absolutely best Banh Mi I will ever have in my life about a block from the hotel!!!! Mekong Delta trip was really wonderful as was the lunch. Calm and peaceful as were the boat rides!
Hotel in Hanoi: Palago was a brilliant choice. Hotel was beautiful, as was the food and excellent service. I’d certainly go there again.
Hotel in Ho Chi Minh: Aragon was very nice and located in the best place. It was a bit busy, but the location made it, as did the staff.
Hotel in Hue: Sleepy to say our least favorite. Hotel was dated and way too big. Suggest you find a different hotel. It was well located. It was one of those big hotels with many busses, and was out of step with the rest of the accommodations.
Hotel in Hoi An: Delicacy was a great choice, and it is difficult to pick between it and Pelago as the best of the trip. It was the perfect location to walk into Hoi An. Staff and room were five star! ...Less
Firstly, we must commend the majority of our tour guides, particularly Tom, Candy, and Mike, whose exceptional service truly enhanced our experience. Their knowledge and professionalism made each destination come alive for us. There are a few language barriers but they didn't affect the trip much.
Regarding accommodations, we were delighted with the Hoi An Central's charm and comfort. The HM Boutique, while boasting a prime location, would benefit from offering more spacious rooms with balconies similar to those on our last night. Additionally, our initial reception at HM Boutique lacked warmth, highlighting an area for improvement. As for the Queen Ann, we felt a hotel closer to the city's vibrant core would have been preferable, as crossing the bustling boulevard proved intimidating.
Overall, we are immensely pleased with the efficiency and thoughtfulness of Best Travel's itinerary. Our journey through Hanoi, Mai Chau, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta was nothing short of exceptional. We intend to leave a glowing review on Trip Advisor, but we felt it necessary to share these private observations with you for future tour planning purposes.

Awfully sorry for the delay in replying to you as I have been taken up with some work after our return from this long, memorable and beautiful journey organized under your good care. Whilst keeping good memories of this beautiful time we had, I must make a few comments both positive and negative:
a) Hotel Hanoi Paon was perfect and well situated. Good reception.
b) Transfer to Halong Bay was smooth and well set up. The cruise and its services were excellent, and we enjoyed this stay which we feel ended too quickly. Maybe a 2-night stay would have been more convenient.
c) You will however consider that we all come from quite a faraway country. We therefore have to carry some minimum clothing and amenities together with some wines etc. This would make our luggage somewhat heavy. The fact that we had to drag our luggage out of the minibus, to the waiting room and thereafter to the small boat was quite inconvenient. I feel it would have been more appropriate if we were allowed to leave some luggage at the hotel and just carry just a small bag for the cruise. From Halong Bay to the airport, we had to pass through the town again and we could thus collect our luggage. This would have been convenient for all.
d) We all had to stay for some long five hours sitting idle at the airport, which was quite boring. A different schedule could have been drawn up to avoid this.
e) We were unlucky to have had to bear with the heavy rain in Hoi An but could not do otherwise than to make-up with. We were lucky that it did not rain at the show we attended and also at the night market.
f) During the next visit, I personally feel that we can arrange for a stay at Da Nang also, which looked attractive.
g) Hotel IRIS in Can Tho was excellent and goes without complaints.
h) Hotel OK Boutique in Phnom Penh was not too bad and enjoyed our stay there.
i) The last stay under your care was in Siem Reap, beautiful city, relaxing mood and plenty of history. However, the hotel, in my opinion, stressed too much on an energy-saving policy. The room’s lights were far too dim with the use of minimum wattage bulbs. We did not get adequate hot water for the shower and had to make up with the cold for the time spent there. On the other hand, the staff, specially the charming lady at the front desk, were very helpful and co-operative.
Dear Moon, I would just like to let you know that the above comments are my opinion and do not, in any case, commit any of my cousins and friends who were with me. This has been my wife’s and my fifth/sixth visit to Vietnam and have always enjoyed our stays.
I must let you know that despite these adverse points mentioned, we have greatly enjoyed this trip and will surely make it but with different places to visit. We will surely keep in touch, and I have already given your contact address to some friends. THANKING YOU EXTENSIVELY.

Something about the tour for your own thoughts. This is not like a traditional tour group where you are all in the same bus and hotel with the same 12 people for 15 days. Best price tours put together and overlap different tours and groups. This type of tour works perfectly for me and my wife as you get meet lots of different people for a short time and also have plenty of time to explore different places and activities.

3.2 Guide in Sapa – Okay should have taken more initiative to advise us of the slippery ground so that we can prepare for the trek. As it is a private tour, could have advised us of the ground and given us another option. My wife felt 3 times along the way even with the help of Hmong ladies who were helping us but due to fall she injured her wrist. She has to go to the hospital to examine her wrist. After we have lunch at Lao Chai village, we did not go further to Ta Van village as I decided not to trek another 2km on slippery ground.

3.4 Guide in Saigon – First guide was not explaining much on the Cu Chi tunnels. As previously advised, I had to get information from another tour guide. Was speaking to Ms Mai and found that we have missed some of the information regarding the tunnel.

Third guide – Mr Bach – Knowledgeable, cheerful and made the tour enjoyable
Would have preferred the same tour guide for the whole of the HCMC tour.
Hotel in Hanoi – Allure Hotel – Very good, welcoming and helpful by receptionist & bell boy. Highly recommend the hotel
Hotel in Sapa – Not a 3 star standard. Need an update. When entering the room, has a musty smell. Good view of the main town center but did not realize that in the early morning say 5:30 am the temple chat, then the church bells and announcement on loud speaker at the main square.

Tome listened to my requests and made them happen. Love my new watch. He also introduced us to Coffee with Egg. Yummy. I felt comfortable walking around the city with Tom and he showed us how to cross the street. That is a skill in Hanoi!

3.3. Guide in Hue – Hugen Vo – I think she was the most knowledgeable of our guides – you could tell that she had trained professionally and was proud of that – I was amazed about how many languages she spoke – she was very patient with us and answered all our questions.
4.1. Hotel in Hanoi – Metropole- Special place – would have liked to stay longer – the location was perfect – walking distance to the lake – we really enjoyed the street fair that was in town
4.2. Hotel in Hoi An – Palm Gardens Resort – I really felt like I was on a relaxing vacation not a tourist here. The amenities were great – especially the SPA!!!

Some other constructive feedback – I would have liked the city tours to be more thorough – Especially in Hue – I did not feel we had enough time. David the guide and Dat the driver were excellent over the two days we spent with them in Hanoi and Mai Chau. The Sunrise Village was also very good and David kept us busy with treks and bicycle rides. Very nice and quiet there. And beautiful. They fed us too much food!
Another excellent excursion to Halong Bay with Dzuongg or "Daisy" our super guide. Just got back to the hotel in Hanoi where they upgraded us to a big room facing the street.
Our guide for the half day tour in Hoi An was hard to understand and seemed rushed to get to her next appointment. The hotel is nice.
The half day tour with Anh in Hue was very good. She kept a good pace and showed us lots, especially at the Imperial Palace. The hotel Midtown is also excellent. Well located and very clean and modern. Their free breakfast was more like a brunch....
You will be getting lots of customers from my friends in Canada. I have been filling both Facebook and Instagram.
Our guide Tu was awesome today at the Mekong Delta, showing us the real Vietnam.

Our experience in Halong Bay and the boat very lovely and romantic. People there very kind with us. We made kayak, very funny. We have enjoyed a lot.

Hue very interesting the visit to the old town and the forbidden city. It's very important to know the history in order to understand the people. Great experience. Cicilia hotel in Saigon, It’s nice and center but a little bit lower category than the others and less beautiful the room assigned. Also is noisy because of its situation, I suppose. Would you mind talking to the hotel in order to change the room for another quieter. Thank you so much. They have just called right now to say to me that they are changing the room. Thank you so much another time. You are so nice!!! I am sure it's not your mistake. You do everything for the clients but sometimes it is complicated. I completely understand it. Jenny arranged the itinerary by combining city and rural areas, along with a cruise on Halong Bay, making the trip interesting. Our tour was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Jenny made it simple for us to plan and book the vacation, and she swiftly addressed any of our concerns. She arranged everything from our visa to our travel, accommodation, sightseeing, and three flights within Vietnam. The hotels, tour guides, and accommodations were all top-notch. At each stop on the tour, Jenny made a point of checking in with us via WhatsApp to make sure everything was going as planned. When we were in Hanoi, I casually mentioned to Jenny that it was my brother's birthday, and she quickly arranged for a cake and dinner at an amazing restaurant. Her act of thoughtfulness was very much appreciated!!

The hotel staff were fantastic. Lovely people. The room was a little below our expectations. We found the room size to be OK, however the window was at the rooftop level where there was washing lines and it wasn’t a very pleasant outlook. The window didn’t close properly so we had some noise until the area was quiet. We enjoyed it because it was a handy good location.
4.2. Hotel in Hue– ÊMM Hotel Hue - Again staff were lovely. Hotel was below our expectations. Smallish size room (for 3) Location was good.
4.3. Hotel in Hoi An– Golden Holiday Hotel & Spa – This was the best of our rooms, large modern and good location. The staff were lovely and the assistance to us was fantastic. A very good hotel with good restaurant and facilities. Balcony access.
4.4. Hotel in Ho Chi Minh– Thien Hai Hotel - This was the smallest of our rooms we stayed in. Below expectations for size. Location was average.

Really important to let clients know the length of time taken in travel to places as we could have seen more things in the time it took for driving. This needs to happen before tour is finalised. Having a list of best sights to choose from before we decided on final destinations would have been helpful.
The Ambassador hotel in Ho Chi Minh was the worst we stayed at. The carpet was stained and dirty. The cleaners cart was outside the lift on the fifth fooor at 8pm or 2000 which was not a good look.
I don't like having to climb over the bath to get to the shower. It was ok for me because I am supple but for people with hip problems or just find it hard to climb in and out it's not good and a potential for falling and breaking their hip is a real possibility.(I have now been in 2 hotels where this was the only option.)
The bed was very hard and I could not sleep for the tossing and turning.
THE WORST THING WAS THAT THERE WAS NO HOT WATER FOR OUR SHOWER ON THE MORNING WE LEFT. We were travelling for 30 hours and needed a hot shower. WE WERE NOT IMPRESSED.
The breakfast was supposed to be at 0600 and on our last day we were being picked up at 0700. Got there at 0610 to find nothing ready until 0630. Coffee Luke warm. Very little choice of food.Staff not friendly and helpful. THAT WAS REALLY BAD AND WE LEFT THAT HOTEL NEVER TO RETURN. Please do not send anyone else there....Less

However, our trip was flawlessly organized, and I am pleased to add my comments to the list of satisfied customers. The hotels were in excellent locations, and the staff was outstanding. The breakfast buffets were great, and the guides were friendly, passionate, and dedicated (special thanks to Tom, Misslin, Hoa, Toan, and Tea). 3.1. Guide in Hanoi
Tom was our first guide and probably the best of all (although ALL were very good). He had such a friendly, happy personality, with a good sense of humor. His English was excellent and knew Hanoi so well. We had such a good visit and we enjoyed Hanoi the best of all due to his efforts. He obviously enjoys his job and it shows in the way he looked after us.

3.2. Guide in Hue/ Hoi An
Anh was excellent as well. She is a very pleasant and intelligent lady. Her knowledge of the history of the area was extremely good. She was able to give us such good information. Her English was excellent and we enjoyed Hue immensely.
Guide in Hoi An was Luc. Luc was competent, his English good and his knowledge of the area was excellent. He gave us a good tour.

3.3. Guide in Ho Chi Minh
We had 2 guides here. First day Kun took us to Cu Chi tunnels and then to the City in the afternoon. He was very pleasant, friendly and had good English. We had a very busy day and saw a lot.
The second day Harry took us to Mekong River. This was a more relaxing visit which we enjoyed so much. Harry was very accommodating. He looked after us well. The meal we had with the family in the house on the bank of the Mekong was one of the best of the whole trip. We felt Harry was the youngest and least experienced guide that we had. His English was satisfactory. He is such a keen and friendly person and he will develop into an excellent guide.

This was such a nice hotel. The hotel was well appointed. Transport into Hoi An was provided. Without doubt it had the best, friendliest staff of the hotels we stayed at. This made such a difference. The staff there looked after us so well. The dining staff for example took the time and interest to engage in conversations with us. We were sad to leave there.

This was a very good hotel. Very well appointed. The rooftop bar and swimming pool were excellent with views to the beach. The front desk concierge named Vin was without doubt the friendliest front desk worker we met on our trip. Such a bubbly and happy personality. He was able to recommend a few local restaurants where we had some excellent feeds.

It was comfortable and well appointed. It was disappointing that for our first 2 nights all we saw from our room window was a concrete wall. However on the night we came back from the Mekong we did get a room with a view which was so much better. The dining room where we had breakfast and meals had great views. We really liked the staff here, they were extremely friendly.

We stayed in great hotels, particularly the Phong Nha Lakehouse, and were greeted each day by knowledgeable and friendly tour guides who spoke excellent English and arrived on time. The transportation was also very good, with air-conditioned mini-buses - some even had WiFi.
Throughout the trip, Hang Moon remained in constant communication with us. She even met us for dinner in Hanoi and brought us a present!
We highly recommend Bestrate Vietnam and Hang Moon. As an example of their affordability, we met a couple on our Halong Bay cruise who had paid for one night what we had paid for nearly one-third of our entire three-week trip.

Thanks to your company for the tour item and particularly to you, Hein as your communication skill was excellent to make us trouble free up to the stage of finalising the tour before arriving into Vietnam.
The tour was so good that we surely would recommend other people as I am attending an "Active Travelling Group" in the University for Third Age in New Zealand.
Only a minor curiosity among the tour was that we were asked to buy tickets for elevator and entrance fee (total vD 11,000 (?)) to go up to a high mountain to see temples and caves right after visiting a big marble statue shop on the day of the 9th during transferring from Hoi An to Saigon. (But the guide provided us one bun as a snack and consumed in the van while moving.) Other than this occasion, during the whole trip, all tickets were provided by the guides. It ended up long writing but not a complaining focused at all.
