Luang Prabang Retreat 6 days - Private Tour

Morning

Welcome to Luang Prabang, you will receive a friendly welcome from our guide and driver. Then transfer to check in the hotel. You are free to stroll around the city for your own first impression of this ancient city.



Afternoon

You will join a private Baci ceremony at a local family. This traditional Lao ritual serves as a cultural expression of the country's spirituality, offering a profoundly memorable experience for all participants.

Following the ceremony, a shared dinner with the host family will be provided, presenting an ideal opportunity to have a first experience of local life and culture.

After departing at 8:30 am from your hotel, transfer to Nahm Dong park, which locates in Ban Xiengmouk, 10Km from city center.
Arriving at the park, we will have a short welcome by the park manager before joining the morning activities here.
We will first start with the Zipline flying over the jungle and the waterfalls admiring the amazing evergreen scenery. The zipline will take about 1 hour.
Then we will walk back via the jungle trail crossing some flying bridges, small streams, and clear natural pools, where you can take a refresh splash if you wish so.
The picnic lunch will be served at the viewpoint where you can spread your view over the region, including the view of mount Phousi in the city center.
You can either spend the rest of the afternoon stroll around the park, relax by one of the huts at the camp, or enjoy the fresh cool clear natural pools.

Morning

After departing at 08:30 from your hotel, we cycle to the river bank and take a ferry to cross the mighty Mekong River to Ban Xeng Mene. We cycle off-road, exploring the area with several stops to take pictures.



Then we have a visit to the village of Ban Nakham, which is popular for sugar cane and Kaolam (sticky rice and beans in bamboo). We pedal through green rice fields, stopping in different villages and tribes to observe local daily lives.

Continuing our ride, we pass through Khmu and Lao Loum villages until we reach the picturesque Tad Hoi Khua (Hundred Families Waterfall). We will have a picnic lunch by the falls while hearing the sound of nature.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, you fill our security acknowledgement form, following by a training safety riding Zip Line with our experience guide and start climb up to the higher trees for 14 stations and 1300 meters of Zip Line down to the Valley with, fly between the trees, cross the Green Jungle Canopy, enjoy or challenge your friends with 180m of Twin Line and fly above the Green Garden Flower on 290 meters before abseil down of the tree and then back to the coffee shop by the Green Organic Trail, take a short rest.

Morning

On this day, you will take part in the cooking class at a local restaurant. We start with a visit to the major food market; explain what the foods are and what they are used for.



Then we transfer back to Tamarind Garden to cook and eat. What you experience should be:

• Varieties of jeow: the fundamental Lao spicy dipping sauces
• Mok Pa, a popular dish of herbed fish steamed in banana leaves
• Tamarind’s specialty: lemongrass stuffed with chicken & herbs
• Laap/koy, a minced meat salad, fragrant with herbs
• Surprising dessert course

NOTE:The Cooking Class is a private class with a maximum of 04 people at once. If there are more clients to join, we will do another cooking class.

The lunch should be finished at around 14:30. 

Afternoon

We go straight to Kuang Si waterfalls, the largest in Luang Prabang, featuring three tiers and a 50-meter drop into vibrant azure pools, perfect for swimming and popular among tourists and locals alike.



A brief visit to the Bear Rescue Center is also scheduled, housing several dozen animals rescued from the clutches of poachers and traffickers.

On the way back to Luang Prabang, we will make a brief stop at the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, set serenely close to the Mekong, this beautiful, traditionally styled workshop, where weavers, spinners, and batik makers produce top-quality fabrics, offers free tours every half-hour. Transfer back to your hotel late afternoon.

Morning

Savor a delicious breakfast at your hotel before setting sail on a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River. This scenic journey offers a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside.

The voyage leads us to the enigmatic Pak Ou Caves, a 16th-century cave monastery nestled 25 kilometers north of Luang Prabang within the limestone cliffs overlooking the Mekong River. The caves house thousands of Buddha images.



Along the way, we will make a stop at Ban Muang Keo, a renowned village recognized for its traditional Lao rice whisky distillation. 

After visiting the caves, we will take the cruise further onto the Nam Ou River where the idyllic Nam Ou Riverside Resort welcomes you with open arms. Nestled along the lazy river, the resort promises peace and rejuvenation.

Free for the rest of the day for your own exploration of the local nearby villages, or just relax by the inviting pool of the resort.
