by TripadvisorWe organised with the brilliant Mia Nguyen at Best Rate Tours for a 3 day, 2 night tour with Orchid cruises on their nostalgia boat. Mia’s help and organisation was brilliant. Due to the typhoon we had to change plans but she was helpful, friendly and organised throughout. We genuinely could not have asked for more from her. The boat was clean, comfortable and with some absolutely brilliant staff. We are well, plenty of options and lots of food available. The trips we took from the boat were even better than expected. An amazing experience.

The trip to the floating market the next day was another highlight. Again everything was arranged perfectly. We even had time to take in a couple more Ho Chi Minh city highlights such as the post office and the Independence Palace.
The Can Tho like the legend was a good hotel, clean, spacious, excellent facilities, perfect staff. However it wasn't a great location. The area around it is still being developed. It felt like it was a bit impersonal, commercial and corporate. There were no good restaurants within walking distance, only bars or other resorts. Whilst we cannot fault the hotel, a better location could have been chosen nearer to Ninh Kieu Wharf. The choice of restaurants and the night Market here was far better than where the Muang Than was located. Our children ended up using room service as the restaurant was empty (no atmosphere) and there was no restaurants locally other than street food. In the end we took a taxi to the Wharf where there was more atmosphere. Again this did not spoil the trip and the quality of the facilities was excellent.
