3 day Ha Long Bay experience
by Tripadvisor
We organised with the brilliant Mia Nguyen at Best Rate Tours for a 3 day, 2 night tour with Orchid cruises on their nostalgia boat. Mia’s help and organisation was brilliant. Due to the typhoon we had to change plans but she was helpful, friendly and organised throughout. We genuinely could not have asked for more from her. The boat was clean, comfortable and with some absolutely brilliant staff. We are well, plenty of options and lots of food available. The trips we took from the boat were even better than expected. An amazing experience.

A short drive takes us to Ninh Binh, a land of limestone karsts and emerald rice paddies. We board a traditional sampan and glide through the Tam Coc caves, where sunlight dances on the water, revealing hidden chambers adorned with stalactites. The Bich Dong Pagoda, perched atop a hill, rewards us with panoramic views of this mystical landscape.
Embarking on a cruise, we sail into the legendary Halong Bay. Thousands of limestone islands rise dramatically from the jade waters, their peaks shrouded in mist. As the sun sets, we kayak through secret lagoons, discovering ancient fishing villages and limestone grottoes. Nights on the boat are a symphony of stars and gentle waves.
Hoi An is our last destination. We explore the Japanese Covered Bridge, its pagoda roof adorned with mythical creatures. The Tailors’ Street entices us to create bespoke silk garments, while the Ancient Town whispers stories of traders and silk routes. At dusk, the lanterns illuminate the Thu Bon River, casting a spell on all who wander here.More
