3 day Ha Long Bay experience
by Tripadvisor

We organised with the brilliant Mia Nguyen at Best Price travel for a 3 day, 2 night tour with Orchid cruises on their nostalgia boat. Mia’s help and organisation was brilliant. Due to the typhoon we had to change plans but she was helpful, friendly and organised throughout. We genuinely could not have asked for more from her. The boat was clean, comfortable and with some absolutely brilliant staff. We are well, plenty of options and lots of food available. The trips we took from the boat were even better than expected. An amazing experience.

The homestay food was excellent.
The first 2 days were good, the 3rd day was disappointing. Too short.

The walk to cat cat village was only 3 hours long, the 3rd day should have more to do.

2/The return train trip from Lao Cai to Hanoi was horrible, the driver just left us at the train station and no assistance was given to assist me to retrieve my train ticket. I got my tickets (by asking around for the next half an hour) from a woman which basically standing outside the exit just like any local. Orient Express counter was never in existence and the ticket given to me did not correspond to the berth number I had in the train voucher

Quite an easy trek, I think people can do this trek without much fitness.
