We wanted something gentle but still cultural, and this was a great choice. The staff looked after us well. We skipped a few activities, but even just relaxing at the retreat and watching sunrise on the cruise made the trip worth it.

The trip was very well organized, which I appreciated. The transfer to Panhou was quite long, so be prepared to sit in the car for hours, but the scenery is stunning. The retreat itself is quiet, no TV and limited Wi-Fi, which at first was a bit annoying but ended up being a blessing. The trek was beautiful but a little challenging for me in the heat. The herbal steam after was perfect, though the smell of the herbs was very strong.

Ha Long Bay was incredible. Our cabin was clean, food was great, and sunrise on the deck was my favorite moment.

Honestly, we didn’t know much about Panhou before going, but it ended up being one of our favorite parts. The hot spring was great for just hanging out and chatting.

Ha Long Bay was stunning, and we climbed up Titop Island together for the view, worth the steps.

Definitely recommend this trip for small groups of friends.

For me, the best part was the balance between quiet time and activities. At Panhou, there wasn’t much to do besides rest, eat, and join yoga/meditation. At first I thought I’d be bored, but I actually enjoyed just sitting by the stream with a book. The trek was not too hard, maybe 4–5 hours, but the ground was a bit slippery after rain, so bring proper shoes. The herbal steam bath afterwards felt perfect.

Ha Long Bay was busy with other boats, but once you’re out on the deck it doesn’t matter. The cave (Sung Sot) was crowded, but still worth seeing. My favorite moment was sunrise on the last morning, very quiet, only a few people up on deck.

I traveled with my sister and we both really enjoyed it. Hanoi was busy and exciting, but after that everything slowed down in a good way. At Panhou Retreat we just relaxed, read books, and enjoyed the massage. The picnic during the trek was simple, nothing fancy, but tasted so good because we were hungry. On the cruise, we liked the cooking class, even though we were terrible at it. Staff everywhere were super kind.More
